Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Rings of Power World (“we”) collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain. The site is operated by its creator, contactable at [email protected].
What we collect
- Analytics, only with your consent. If you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies (
_ga,_ga_*, kept up to 2 years) and records pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and how you use the map (for example which episodes or places you open). IP addresses are anonymised. If you click “Decline”, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. - Settings stored in your browser. We store your cookie choice (
sa-consent) and your 3D time-of-day preference (rop-tod) in your browser’s local storage. These never leave your device. - Hosting logs. Our host, Netlify, processes standard request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and secure the site. See Netlify’s privacy policy.
- Fonts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts are requested.
- Advertising. The episode guide pages may show ads served by Google AdSense (the interactive map itself has no ads). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits. If you accept cookies, ads may be personalised; if you choose “Necessary only”, only non-personalised ads are requested, which still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked through Google’s certified consent message instead. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. - Donations. “Support” links take you to PayPal. Any payment information you provide is handled by PayPal under its own privacy policy; we receive only what PayPal shares with recipients (such as your name, email and amount).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Why we use it
To keep the site running and secure, to show ads that help cover hosting costs, and, with consent, to understand which features are useful so we can improve them.
Your choices and rights
- You can change your cookie choice at any time via Cookie settings or by clearing your browser’s site data.
- Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to withdraw consent. Contact us at [email protected].

International transfers
Google (Analytics, AdSense, Fonts), Netlify and PayPal may process data outside your country, including in the United States.
